Strata Controller Officer – Sibanye Stillwater

The appointee should:

  • Chamber of Mines’ Strata Control Certificate recognized by SANIRE.
  • Blasting certificate advantageous.
  • Mining relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. B-Tech or BSc) an advantage.
  • Approximately 3 years Rock Engineering experience within a metalliferous mining environment.
  • Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye Stillwater Occupational Health Centre

Advantageous requirements:

  • Completed sections of the COM rock engineering certificate

Key responsibilities:

  • Effective strata control service delivery and support to Rock Engineering and mining personnel: Adhere to standardisation requirements as well as policies, procedures and operating standards related to strata control services and support;
  • Improve strata control processes: Review and analyse the effectiveness of operational strata control programmes, interventions, systems and processes;
  • Successful teamwork and collaboration with stakeholders: Liaise with the Junior Strata Control Officer to coordinate work and maintain relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders;
  • SHEC: Adhere to safe work procedures and PPE requirements.
