Laboratory Analyst performs chemical and physical analysis of samples to pre-defined standards in support of operational processes
Recruitment Description / Key Accountabilities

Prepare, analyse and report routine samples according to appropriate analytical methods to various business operations.
Identify cause – effect relationship that predict consequence on equipment and production
Trouble shooting with minimum supervision

Functional / Technical
Conformance to ISO standards
Adhere to preventative maintenance schedule of lab equipment
Verify and calibrate lab equipment
Preparation of reagents and standards
Record analysis data on log sheets
Ensures that results are reported correctly and in time to production colleagues
Report out of spec and out of trend results to supervision and production colleagues
Application of GLP
Knowledge and use of pH meters, balances, and volumetric ware
Experience and knowledge in some of the following techniques
- Titrimetric (acid base, redox, argentometry, coulometry and Karl Fisher titrations)
- Spectrophotometry (NIR, UV-Vis, IR)
- Spectroscopy (ICP)
- Chromatography
- Gravimetry
- Physical methods (Density, particle size)
- Thermal techniques e.g. polymer film analysis using extrusion
