Assistant Accountant: Trade Cost – Tiger Brands


You will perform various tasks to support the financial accountant, including, but not limited to, requesting manual journals, reconciling balance sheet accounts and reporting.


Key Attributes and Competencies

  • Accounting diploma or degree
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a good ability to communicate
  • Good oral, written, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Be able to make sound, independent judgements within established policies and procedures




  • 2 years accounting and administrative experience
  • Prepare and request journals for processing
  • Prepare month end GL reconciliations
  • Analysis of GL
  • Review GL to ensure all journals were correctly posted
  • Performing complexed calculations
  • Running Sales Extracts for all BU’s (Monthly & Weekly)
  • Review Variable Trade Cost Deductions
  • Extracting and consolidating Rebates provision & Payments from MS Access
  • Agents Commission & Cash Vans calculations
  • Claims resolution
  • Maintain & Manage Trading Term Tracker
  • Updating of MS Access databases to ensure alignment with latest Trading terms
  • Answers to queries, information, explanations and help as required.
