Actuary/Actuarial Consultant – Sanlam

Role Description

Produce IFRS and other results for the Sanlam Retail Mass (SRM) cluster.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Monthly IFRS and management information reporting, including
  • Reserves
  • Analysis of surplus
  • Forecasting of profits and business KPIs
  • Analysis of business performance relative to budgets and previous forecasts
  • Assist the business during the annual budget cycle (via the necessary calculations and business insights)
  • Effective communication of results to stakeholders – presenting actuarial analysis in a manner that is informative and identifies clear actions
  • Prepare accurate and timely reports and memos for management and Board meetings
  • Improve operational efficiency through a constant focus on process improvements in the Reporting TOM

Qualifications:

  • Actuarial degree
  • Nearly/newly qualified actuary

Experience and skills:

  • Previous reporting experience
  • Strong PC skills. Including proficiency in Microsoft Office (MS Excel, etc.)

The following would be advantageous:

  • IFRS 17 knowledge and experience
  • VBA programming
  • Proficiency in Prophet and DCS
